Our Private Rental Assistance Program (PRAP) provides people who are experiencing or almost homeless with financial and practical support to get and keep a private rental home.
How can PRAP help me?
PRAP can provide two kinds of help:
Help
- with getting started, like rent in advance
- with rent you owe
- with some costs of setting up and living in a home
Help
- finding a private rental
- you apply for a rental
- Help to fix your rental history
- with information and support
Who can get help?
If you are having trouble finding a rental property, are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, or need more suitable long-term housing you can get help if you are:
- receiving income support payments
- have no income
- staying in a caravan park or boarding house
- victim survivors of family violence
- You will need to live in our area, in the Ovens Murray and Goulburn region. If you don’t live locally we can help you find support where you live.
