The threads of excitement and community are being woven together in anticipation of the VicStitchers retreat at St Augustine’s Hall from May 3 to May 5.

This year’s event has stitched together a full house, creating a vibrant patchwork of about 100 needleworkers from every corner of Victoria, the lengths of New South Wales, and the crafty shores of Tasmania.

Kate Brown of VicStitchers said there was a real buzz of excitement in the lead-up to the three-day retreat.

“It’s a true community event, bringing together people from across states who share a common thread—both in their love for needlework and their desire to help others.”

In what promises to be a fabric fair of fun, attendees can look forward to a silent auction, raffles, and games, all tailored to strengthen community bonds and aid Beyond Housing’s invaluable work by raising funds to purchase essential items for their clients.

Beyond Housing CEO Celia Adams said the VicStitchers community’s generosity and creativity was the fabric of true philanthropy.

“Their dedication to their craft and our cause will make a real difference to people in need.”

The retreat is an event filled with more than stitches and chats. It’s an opportunity for the needlework community to tie knots of solidarity and style.
